The Rogue Is Back in Town (The Wayward Wallflowers #3)   by Anna Bennett.                                   A young woman moonlight kiss in the garden during a ball is just the beginning. Contrary to   Miss Juliette Lacey's  expectations, the erstwhile respectable Duke Nigel (the worm!) does not come a wooing. Instead he sends his rogue of a brother,  Lord Samuel Travis,  to evict her and her uncle from their home. The relationship between Nigel and Sam is really a key to Sam's behaviour. Entranced by Juliette, the rogue in Sam finds himself wanting Juliette, but the suppressed Sam wants a chance to change his path. There are some deliciously wicked moments and some humorous ones. For starters his carriage accident was no accident. Miss Elizabeth Lacey, Beth, one of those he'd dubbed the Wilting Wallflowers some years ago is his grandmother's companion. The Duke appears to be a confirmed rake. His sexual prowess is talked about by women in hushed tones, he's highhandedness and downright rude, and his a scars add another layer of mystery. He is a man who carries secret burdens, including the truth about his rakish ways. Having been badly burnt as a child his body carries the evidence and his heart carries the memory of the night that dashed his childhood into smithereens. Alex loves his grandmother dearly and wants to protect her....

My Brown-Eyed Earl (The Wayward Wallflowers #1)   by  Anna Bennett I loved all the characters in this story--well most of them. There were a couple of exceptions. Meg (Miss Margaret Lacey) is a person of great heart, a caring nature and a guilty soul. Will (William Ryder, Earl of Castleton) is a a strong minded man with a sensitive side. Meg and Will have known each other from childhood. Indeed there might have been more if Meg hadn't been so young, stubborn and proud.  Now Meg and her sisters are in straightened circumstances. There foray into polite society has been less than stellar and the term 'wallflower' is bandied about. Meanwhile Will has taken charge of his cousin's two small daughters. He needs a governess. Meg needs a job. Surely a match made in heaven. The past and the present collide and both Will and Meg are drawn 'willy nilly' into a set of circumstances that leave them both stunned by the flare of attraction that's sparked. And ...
